"Japanese Yen: Blue Emperor"

There is a tension between the central, pulsating, oval space and the formal portrait of the Emperor that radiates dignity, strength, and intelligence. The white energy emanating from its mysterious source may be the Japanese spirit. I painted small pieces of blue and white permutations as live movement surrounding empty, yet filled space.
